  • These sessions are natural, relaxed, and focused on connection. I love photographing your family in your home, where everyone feels comfortable and we can document those real, everyday moments. These aren’t about stiff poses, spotless rooms, or fancy outfits. They’re about your family, your rhythm, and the love already surrounding your baby.

Sessions include parents and siblings. I’ll bring a few soft, neutral props such as a basket, swaddles, and blankets to use with baby throughout the session as needed.

The process

The photoshoot

My favorite part! Newborn sessions are completely baby-led. We’ll take breaks for feeding, cuddles, and soothing as needed, so the pace is relaxed and stress-free. Parents, siblings and pups are always welcome to be included, and my goal is to capture a mix of sweet candid moments and timeless portraits that reflect your growing family.

02

Planning & booking

Together we’ll choose a date that works best for your family, allowing flexibility around baby’s arrival in those first few weeks. I’ll share styling guidance and explain any details about studio rentals or location options. Your spot is officially reserved once the retainer and agreement are complete (the remaining balance is due after your session).

 newborn session FAQs

  • Yes! If you prefer a natural light studio setting instead of your home, I can reserve one for an additional fee (I don’t own my own). Studio prices vary depending on the space since each has its own hourly rate. Studios are a great option if you’d like a bright, minimal backdrop or if you don’t feel comfortable shooting at home. I’ll share a few local options for you to choose from.

  • Yes! Travel is included for locations within 25 miles of Augusta. For anything further, a travel fee of $0.65 per mile applies.

  • I don’t cap the final gallery. You’ll receive all of the best edited images in color, along with a selection of black & white edits. I’m a little too indecisive and love surprising you with more than you expected!

  • Yes! Rush editing is available for $90 if you’d like your gallery delivered within 3–4 days instead of my standard turnaround. Just let me know at booking or at least a week before your session.

  • It’s best to reserve your spot during pregnancy so we can plan ahead and make sure I’m available around your baby’s arrival. I recommend reaching out about 2 months before your due date, and we’ll touch base as it gets closer. If your baby has already arrived, don’t worry—reach out anyway! I typically have flexibility in the mornings to fit you in.

  • To make sure we get your preferred dates, each milestone session should be scheduled about 1–2 months in advance.

    • Newborn: See the newborn FAQ above for details, but I typically recommend scheduling between 1.5–6 weeks after birth.

    • 6 Months: Aim for right around 6 months, or even closer to 7 months if needed, so your baby is sitting up on their own.

    • 1 Year: If you’d like photos ready to post on their actual birthday, plan the session for at least 2 weeks before. If posting on the exact day isn’t a priority, anytime around their first birthday works beautifully.

  • The sweet spot for those tiny, fresh, curled-up portraits is within the first 1.5–3 weeks, when babies are usually the sleepiest and snuggliest. That said, newborn sessions can be done anytime in the first 6 weeks. Around 3–4 weeks, many moms start to feel more confident, and babies are often a little more alert and expressive, which I love capturing too. So please don’t feel pressured to be picture-ready in those first couple of weeks if you’re not ready, your baby will still be wonderfully snuggly even at 6 weeks. Most families book within that 1.5–3 week window, but truly, the right time is whenever feels best for you.

  • Please don’t stress about that! I’m not photographing your house, I’m documenting your family in it. I’ll simply find the spot with the best natural light and work there. As long as you have windows with light flowing into the spaces you’d like captured, we’re good! And if you’d prefer, we can always book a studio for an additional fee.

  • Newborn sessions are baby-led and relaxed. I’ll photograph baby’s sweet details, snuggles with parents, siblings, and even pets if you’d like. You can expect a mix of lifestyle moments and timeless portraits that highlight the love already surrounding your little one.

One of my favorite things to capture is the way you look at your baby, those genuine expressions and moments you’ll always want to remember.

  • That’s completely normal. Newborn sessions are designed to be slow and relaxed with plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing. We’ll follow baby’s lead and take breaks whenever needed. Sessions typically last up to 90 minutes.

  • I’ll send you my full outfit guide to help you feel confident and prepared once your deposit is received and the agreement is signed. Neutrals and soft tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby, but I’m always happy to offer extra guidance as you plan outfits.

One additional tip: if we’ll be photographing in the nursery and it has a strong color theme (like lots of blue), it’s best to wear something that contrasts instead of blending in with a similar solid color.

  • No, I typically do not.
